450gsm Spot UV Business Cards – For High-end Results

Welcome to Belfast Print Online – home to experts in the printing of Spot UV business cards. We’d love to find out more about your job, so don’t hesitate to contact us. Moreover – we deliver free to Northern Ireland and the UK, so be sure to ask about our great prices.

What is Spot UV?
Oh – we love this process!

It involves applying a clear, shiny finish to a particular area – a spot area. As a result, this application really stands out. Let’s say you have a logo on your card, and you want anyone’s eye to fall immediately on that before taking in any other information. In that case, you would consider this process. They are definitely not going to miss the logo. Moreover, it creates an overall wow factor that will leave a memorable impression.

More about the Spot UV process
How do we go about creating this beautiful result for you?

Firstly we apply a UV coating to machine rollers, which then goes over the sheets. We then place the sheets under an InfraRed and UV lamp. We do this so they dry instantly. When it comes to the spot process, we place a film over the sheet so that only certain parts of it receive the next coating. We then spread a UV varnish across a die-cut template.

And hey presto, this beauty is ready!

What is the best overall finish for a card using this process?
Matt lamination is used as the main overall finish on the cards before the Spot UV is applied. As a result, that highlight area is going to really dominate for all the right reasons. Our standard weight used for Spot UV business cards is 450gsm Silk, which is then Matt Laminated.

Can Spot UV apply to the whole business card?
Yes, it can. However, we recommend that no more than 50 percent of any one side should use this process.

Important advice
Please do not bleed the Spot UV layer off the edges. You should maintain at least 5mm away from the edge. Why is this the case? Because there is a chance that it may fray or tear at the edge over a short period of time.

Does this process mean the artwork file needs to be different to normal?
Yes. There’s just a few more steps, but they’re all very much worth it.

– Step One – Normal Artwork
We ask that you have your standard page per side in your artwork. So for instance one side = one page page or two sides = two pages.

– Step Two – Duplicate Artwork Highlighting Target Area
Then we need you to duplicate your artwork, highlighting where you want the target area on an extra page of its own. Now please recolour in BLACK the area of artwork that you want to target. If your artwork is mostly black, please use any other bright colour that is not already in the existing artwork palette.

Therefore, in one PDF file you will have one to two pages of your standard artwork (depending on how many sides you want printed), plus a separate page with just your target area artwork. We are more than happy to talk this through with you over the phone, however, so don’t hesitate to give us a call.

What is the standard size?
85mm x 55mm

What information do I need to include on the card?
Ultimately that is up to you. However, as a general rule of thumb the information might include, for instance:

– Company name
– Logo
– Employee name and role
– Contact details – be it email, phone, physical address, website or a combination thereof
– Consider also a tagline

There is no question Spot UV business cards are really a step up, and make a fantastic impressive impact. We’re here to help you do that, so please call us for more information.
